Amy Keating Rogers was born and raised in Los Angeles, where she received her B.A. from Occidental College and her M.F.A. from CALARTS/California Institute of the Arts. She continued to hone her craft in writing at the Padua Hills Playwrights' Workshop and UCLA.
When her critically acclaimed play, The Stuff, premiered in Hollywood, Craig McCracken, creator of THE POWERPUFF GIRLS, approached Amy about writing for POWERPUFF. After freelancing for THE POWERPUFF GIRLS for 6 months, she was promoted to Head Writer of the show. Amy continued writing for the GIRLS through their run at Cartoon Network and was nominated for 4 Emmys for THE POWERPUFF GIRLS during that period.
Amy also wrote on the Emmy-award winning SAMURAI JACK, FOSTER’S HOME FOR IMAGINARY FRIENDS, and new seasons of DEXTER’S LABORATORY and JOHNNY BRAVO. In addition she wrote on THE POWERPUFF GIRLS MOVIE, THE POWERPUFF GIRLS ‘TWAS THE FIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS holiday special, and the DEXTER’S LABORATORY EGO TRIP special.
During her tenure at Cartoon Network, Amy wrote THE POWERPUFF GIRLS “All Chalked Up” and “Powerpuff Professor” Scholastic chapter books. And for Golden Books, she wrote “Creature Teacher” and “The Powerpuff Girls Guide to Being a Superhero.” Amy also ventured into the world of comics, writing numerous POWERPUFF GIRLS adventures for DC Comics. Post POWERPUFF, Amy has written for many animated series, including Nickelodeon's DANNY PHANTOM. And while she continues her work in animation, Amy has also finished two live action feature comedies.
Amy lives in Los Angeles with her husband, Aaron, and their two children, Moira and Soren.
